🧪 TSHE Advances Microplastics Research in the Bang Pakong River Basin for Thai Public Health
On May 16, 2025, the Thai Society of Higher Education Institutes on the Environment (TSHE), led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ratcha Chaichana, TSHE President and Principal Investigator, along with the research team, participated in a stakeholder consultation meeting co-hosted with the Thai Health Promotion Foundation (ThaiHealth). The meeting brought together representatives from communities, government agencies, and academic institutions to jointly analyze the challenges and management strategies related to microplastics pollution in the Bang Pakong River Basin—a vital area for Thailand’s food security and environmental sustainability.
This meeting marks the starting point of an in-depth investigation into the impacts of microplastics on public health, using both scientific approaches and multi-sectoral participation to co-develop policy directions and long-term preventive measures.
